BON VOYAGE

Here we go on our 7 day cruise to Alaska. 10 months ago Cliff surprised me with tickets for this trip. He chose the cruise ship named The Norwegian Star, I have always been so facinated by this country because my roots are there because of Grandpa Ronny. Most of my living relatives all live in Norway. As soon as we got on board the ship's captain got on the PA system to welcome us all aboard. His name was Lars Bergstrom, a typical scandinavian name. He had a really thick accent, just like my dad. I was hoping that I could catch of glimpse of him sometime during the trip. One night Cliff and I were in a restaurant on the boat and he was there eating dinner. Cliff wanted to go ask him if he would take a picture with me, but I had forgotten my camera in our room.
The last night of the cruise, we attended a concert in the Big Theatre on the ship. At the end of the show they had alot of the ship's staff come onto the stage for an applause. They introduced the usual important people on the crew, but the one I wanted to see was Captain Bergstrom. He was the last one to be introduced. It was then that we discovered that he was a Swede, NOT a Norwegian. Oh my gosh! My dad would have been devastated that a Swede was at the helm of a Norwegian cruise ship. It was too funny. We had so much fun and made alot of memories. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
